In this acceleration comparison video, we have an all-American Viper with a manual transmission, going against two of the fastest dual-clutch-transmission automatic equipped Italians.  Mix in a few modified cars at the end, and we have a party.  The results may surprise you.

2014 SRT Viper TA (640hp V10, 100% stock, manual)
2015 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 (610hp V10, 100% stock, automatic)
2014 Ferrari 458 (562hp V8, 100% stock, automatic)
2015 Ford Mustang GT (700hp V8, Hennessey supercharged, manual)
2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (675hp V8, heads/cam/exhaust, manual)

All runs started at approx 60 mph.  The Viper was power-shifted, without lifting the throttle between shifts.  DCT is usually an advantage, but we’ve proven that you can hang with the latest transmission technology – if you can shift fast enough.
